Thank you to all the responders of how to do Blind Copy.  I have done it and now you should be getting your newsletter in the BC.

Can you believe it is already December?  The months go by way too fast for me.  They say the older you get the faster they go—I think I am approaching 95.  Lots news this month.  I know how busy everyone is getting ready for the holidays.  We all need to take a few moments to reflect on the season and know that for some families this is not a time of great happiness due to many reasons.  Savor all the moments we have with loved ones and dear friends as they become valued memories that last us all our lives.  May all of you have a peaceful, blessed, and serene holiday time with family and friends.

October Shop Hop Winners:  I couldn’t find my winners—but now I have:  Tote-Zada Talus, Iron-Cory Fischer, Light-Judy Merhman and then we each drew for one of our shop gift certificates.  Mine was won by Amanda Alexander.

Last Minute Gifts:  Are you busy working on all those Christmas projects?  Do you still need to do a few more, but need fast, inexpensive and easy ones?  Well, we have just what you need.  Have you seen our cute little Microwave Mitt—all you need is in the little package even the Insul-bright and they make 2!  Don’t forget about adding a cute border to our Tea Towels and even add a bit of rick-rack if you want.   A little more time and you can add a cute appliqué and blanket stitch around it.  You’ve seen all our cute Table runners and Toppers and we even have some of them in kits and a few are pre-cut to make it even easier for you.  Have you heard about the “10 minute (Hot Dog) pillowcase?”   We will be making some kits with our cute novelty fabrics and coordinates—precut!!  We’ll also include the “free” directions on how to make the “Hot Dog” pillowcase and if that isn’t enough  we are also going to give a free demo on how to do it at 10 on Saturday, Dec. 8th and again at 5 p.m. on Dec. 10th.  You do need to call to reserve a spot—no charge.  I want to thank Sandy W. and Linda J. for giving me the one set of instructions and the other set of instructions I got at a retreat.  This pillowcase construction has been around a long time, but I had lost my info on it.  I merged the two directions into one.  It does help to see it.  Once you learn this, you can whip up pillowcases in about 10 – 15 min.

Ragspun Trunk Show- have I got a cute trunk show from Rhonda of Ragspuns.  These are those cute “chenille” appliqués.  Talking about quick gifts—look at these ideas.  The fun part is they can be embellished for a whole different look.  Her trunk show has a lot of primitive folk art decor, but they can be done in any style.  We’ll have it set up from today – Dec. 18th.  You will truly be inspired.  Tell us you came to see the Trunk Show and put your name in for a drawing for a free pattern with a ragspun.

Chrsitmas Gifts –for you!  We’re the place—send your loved ones in to get what you’ve wanted all year or week…A new machine or serger,  Sidewinder for winding those bobbins (not Viking bobbins),  new scissors or rotary cutter or even a revolving cutting mat for doing those blocks when you need to trim, …how about that kit you’ve been wanting or a favorite book?  I can even put together a cute basket of fats, threads, patterns, etc……and if all else fails….we have those cute Gift Certificates.  Would a $1000 be enough?

Club Notes:
All of our clubs started in Oct. except for Thimbleberries 2008.

Nickel Club meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 5 p.m and will meet for 6 months except for the month of Dec.  Moda Madness meets the 4th Monday at 5:30 p.m. and will meet every other month starting in Jan.  We will meet in Nov. Thangles Buck-A-Block started in Sept. and is in the 3rd month. Remember to pick up on time or you pay!  New Jelly Roll Club starts 3rd Sat. of Month in Jan. at 9 a.m.  Pick up info on it at the store—will go for 6 months.  I guarantee fun, food and inspiration!

Thimbleberries clubs:  The pictures of both lines “Lodge and Lakeside” are on the bulletin board with the 5” samples of the fabrics.  You can do one large quilt in either line or 4 smaller projects in just one line or a combination of both lines.  This makes it all the more fun.  We will start the clubs in January.  You can sign now.  The cost is $25 and includes a 5”pack of either Lake or Lodge.  We will be doing the Thimbleberries Bucks again and I have more fun games planned again for next year, we are also looking into a bus trip to Hutchinson to see Lynette Jensen.  I’ll continue trying new recipes for you to taste and they will be put in a little book form this year and yes, we’ll have another auction.  Sign up individually or sign up as a group—we’ll do as many clubs as we have people signed up for—limit is 14 per club.  Shall we have 3 clubs this year?

No classes this month—will look at starting them again in February.  Give me your suggestions for classes.    Happy Quilting……see you soon.  Marsha.
