Happy New Year 2012
– can you believe how fast 2011 went? It will now take me 6
months to ingrain 2012 on my brain! Did you make any
resolutions for the year? Neither did I….I learned a long time
ago not to do it as I tend to break them so I practice
“moderation” in the majority of what I do. I do leave some
openings for my vices (fabric and books) as we all have to have
some fun! Hope this year finds you in good health, lots of
happiness and less worries about finances.
January “Deep Freeze” Sale – Jan. 16 thru Jan. 28th. Our semi-annual
sale where we the hallway is loaded with bolts which are 40%
off. We also have some books, patterns, and kits that are
marked way down too. Notice that the sale is on for 2 weeks
now. We decided that gave more people a chance to get here for
the sale, especially those from out of town. Our sale is too
good to miss! Honor Roll Customers – postcards will go
out in the mail early next week for your “Presale” chance to
shop which will be on Sunday, Jan. 15th from 12 –
2:30 p.m. We will have goodies, coffee and several prizes. You
must bring your post card to register for the prizes. Not an
Honor Roll Customer?? When you fill up a customer reward card,
you are automatically put on our Honor Roll….however, if you
haven’t attended one of our presale shopping times in the last
couple years, you may have been removed. We try to keep our
post cards at about 100. If you don’t get one and you have
filled 1 or more cards, please call and I will verify and have a
card waiting for you to attend.

P. S. We Love You… Breast Cancer Challenge/No Challenge
Quilts….Spring Fling Quilt Show…April 20 & 21 at Barker’s
Island…come
on all you quilters…it’s time to get those machines humming with
making lap quilts for the local Breast Cancer Centers. We need
100 this time and all will be shown at our Spring Fling Quilt
Show. The Challenge Fabric will be unveiled on Jan. 5th
and all it takes is a 1/2yd and tell us your name and phone
number. The rules will be available on Jan. 5th
also. That will give you the size and date it is due. You can
do this by yourself or with a group of friends. These quilts
are needed and much appreciated by the women who receive them.
They are targeted for those cancer patients who do not have a
support system in place and when they receive their quilt they
know that someone does care about them. We have labels that
will go on each quilt with your name and the P. S. We Love You
tag. If you need help for ideas---we are glad to help. No
Challenge quilts are also welcome and you need to get the rules
for those too and they will also be shown. There are 4 quilt
shops involved in this so you can get the fabric from any of
them: Country Schoolhouse, Creations, Quilt Corner, and Behind
the Seams. Let’s show these cancer patients how much we care
about them and we support them. The name of the fabric is
called “Fight Like A Girl.” Isn’t that what it’s all about?

New Spring Fabrics
are coming in…our goal is to make a project from each line!
That might prove to be a bit difficult, but we’re up to it! We
have some new kits ready: Bloomin’ Friends is a panel by Sandy
Gervais and works up so darling – there is also the cute charm
pack wall hanging that matches. Dee worked up a cute snowman
table topper using the Moonlit Star pattern and that is kitted
up – great for the winter we are now getting. Lynn did a table
runner using Northern Cardinals with the Cinnamon Sticks pattern
from This n’ That. We also have that kitted. Mo and Marsha put
together an Infinity Scarf from our cozy brown faux fur fabric
we have…..takes only 12”, fold and sew, put in a twist and then
stitch 2 ends together by hand and put it on. Will make a great
gift for this winter or save for next Christmas.
Christmas All Year Long….I
love that song, but I get so far behind by the time Christmas
gets here and then I am all worn out and can’t enjoy it. I also
know many of you are like me so I’m working on a program that
will take a lot of the stress out of Christmas--gifts in
particular. Watch for the Feb. newsletter where we will have it
all spelled out for you and I think this will be something you
will not only like, but it will also lower that stress factor if
you keep on the program from Feb. thru Nov. and you will have a
nice selection of gifts to choose from that will all be done by
Dec. We will be trying to get a nice selection of those
projects done so you can see what we are talking about. Details
will be coming…..
